Lasik or Do-It-Yourself

I've looked into Lasik eye surgery and have seriously considered it. When I lived in New York, it happened that many of my friends and friends of friends had it done. I very nearly did it but then my money was drawn to other things. I'm still looking out for it and have weighed the pros and cons. Recently, I've seen something that intrigues me and scares me.
